At P&P Consulting we have always hated this phrase! It epitomises everything that is wrong with closed minds in the business world, "We've done ok so far" yell the non-believers, and this may be true, but that is in the past, how are you dealing with the future?

This phrase brings with it an inability to modernise our business; the inability to take advantage of advances in technology and changes to public thinking and mind set. If our competitors are changing and we don't, there's only one thing we are getting.....and that's left behind.

What a horrible mind set and an absolute sure fire way to kill a business, maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow but soon...unless as a business owner, director, senior manager or supervisor such as yourselves take those mindsets and do something to change them.

Who knows, you may even find new and exciting opportunities along the way, avenues of income you didn't know existed, meet new people and companies that might benefit you in ways you can't imagine right now. At the very least you will be growing your network and, learning new things and widening your horizons which can never be a bad thing.

We all know that there is pain that goes along with modernising a business, making changes to systems or procedures, it's never smooth sailing or simple and mistakes DO get made along the way, however, whichever way you cut it, that short lived pain is infinitely better than the pain of losing a once great business just because you've always done it this way.

The problem for many companies is what got them to where they are today won’t get them to where they want to go in the future, and in fact, could jeopardize their entire company. Why? Because we live in a different work world now.

Change is happening so quickly all around us. The speed of technological change is unbelievable. Our world is completely different than just 10 years ago, let alone 30. Think about it: 10 year ago, companies like Twitter, Uber, Lyft, Snapchat, Instagram, Airbnb, and Venmo didn’t exist Or barely existed. Facebook was only a few years old company that was only used by a select number of college students, YouTube was barely a getting going, and Netflix was still a DVD-by-mail service.
